Intro to Blacksmithing - Part 1
18+ only - no exceptions - ID required

When: Choice of two dates - Saturday, April 4 or Saturday, April 11
Time: 7:30 AM coffee, course/instruction from 8 AM - Noon
Where: 1215 Whitney Road, Kemptville ON
Experience the lost art of blacksmithing!
Join us for a four-hour hands-on introduction to "smithing" where you'll learn all the basics you need to get started in this truly fun and engaging hobby. After enjoying coffee and pastries, participants will be familiarized with the various tools of the trade and learn how to use them effectively.
What you'll experience:

Work with propane forges

Learn to heat and shape various sizes and types of steel

Create your own small metal project to take home

Receive personalized guidance from an experienced blacksmith
Note: This workshop is designed for beginners. It is NOT a knife-making course.

Safety requirements:

Snug-fitting leather work gloves (welder-type gloves preferred)
-
Steel-toed work BOOTS (no exceptions)
-
Eye protection
-
No loose-fitting or highly flammable clothing
-
A signed liability waiver
-
18+ (no exceptions) - ID will be required
Cost: 150$ per person
Class size: Limited to 4 people to ensure plenty of time on the anvils
